Annual Dinner

6:00 PM

The Historical Society's Annual Dinner will be held at Ebenezer Kezar's at 6:00pm. Menu choices are: Sirloin Tips, Salmon or Chicken Breast with salad and dessert included for $24. For those interested in attending, contact the Society at 925-3234.


Antique Sale & Auction

10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

The Lovell Historical Society will host the 11th Annual Antique Sale at the Kimball-Stanford House. The event will be held from 10am to 3pm. There will be dealers displaying their wares, delicious food and live music courtesy of member Kevin McElroy of Frost Gully Violins. Bruce Buxton will be conducting antique appraisals from 10am to 1pm. Additionally, there will be an auction at 2pm of exciting contemporary items. The auction items are: 2 Red Sox Tickets; 2011 Season Membership at Lake Kezar Country Club; 2 Cords of Split Firewood; 1 Week Stay at Samoset Resort (beginning July 30th); Decorative Sign Bracket; Free Heating Oil Fill-Up (200 gallons maximum); 1 Week Stay at Chalet-style Home on Farrington's Pond; Historic Cocktail Party Cruise for 4; Original Ebenezer Kezar's Pub Sign; 30 Minute Flight over Kezar Lake & the Surrounding Area; Day Rental of a Pontoon Boat; and Dinner & Show at Quisisana for 4. Finally, there will be a raffle drawing at 3pm of three items: Antique Mirror, 14k White Gold Cameo Brooch/Pendant; and Cathedral Pickle Bottle.

 


Lovell Classics: Cars, Boats and Clothes

On Sunday August 8th at 5 pm the Lovell Historical Society will host its first Lovell Classics Show at Pleasant Point Inn. Classic boats will be available for viewing as will antique automobiles. Additionally, there will be a vintage fashion show with items from the Society's collection and assorted borrowed vintage garb modeled. The price of admission, $20, will include limitless hors d'oeuvres. The Inn will provide a cash bar.


 

Fall Harvest

1:00 to 4:00 PM

The Lovell Historical Society will be hosting an informative and fun program focusing on old-time fall harvesting practices. This event should have something of interest for all members of the family. There will be a demonstration on the operation of a cider press and fine representative farm animals. Inside the Kimball-Stanford barn there will be a large harvest bake sale, a photo and tool exhibit and free pumpkin painting for children. We also plan to have live "fiddle" music.


Christmas Open House

1:00 to 4:00 PM

The Kimball-Stanford House will be decorated for the holidays and the museum exhibit will be open. An assortment of "goodies" will be offered in the Bakeshop along with a Hospitality Table, with free cookies, punch and tea or coffee. Additionally, there will be cookie decorating for children. There will be a chance to win one of 4 raffle items.
